AL Week for the Animals

By the Governor of Alabama

WHEREAS, Alabama Week for the Animals brings communities together to celebrate the individuals who work tirelessly to help raise awareness, recognize the contributions of animals to our lives and to help promote healthy interactions between animals and humans;  and

WHEREAS, the week also serves to commend the therapy pets, farm animals, horses, military and working K9s who provide essential services to the citizens of our state; and

WHEREAS, in Alabama, educators, organizations and citizens will join together to have the 9th Annual Alabama Week for the Animals with a variety of educational and interactive events, festive adoption fairs,community-strengthening programs, low cost spay neuter opportunities, wellness clinics, animal shelter adoption days;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kay Ivey, Governor of Alabama, do hereby proclaim September 15-23, 2018 as


Alabama Week for the Animals

in the state of Alabama and to help raise awareness and recognize to the welfare of all animals.

Governor Kay Ivey Officially Proclaims 9th Alabama Week for the Animals September 15-23, 2018!

Animal World USA is pleased to announce that the Alabama Week for the Animals scheduled from September 15-23, 2018 has been proclaimed by Governor Kay Ivey The dynamic week will underscore community spirit throughout the state as the citizens and welfare orgs join together on behalf of the amazing animals.

Alabama Week for the Animals will be spotlighting humane organizations, shelters, sanctuaries, businesses, students, advocates, community leaders, and caring citizens in an action-packed, compassionate week of exciting activities for the animals!

Scores of tail-wagging dog and fun-loving feline pet adoption events, festivals which include animal activities, spay/neuter opportunities, feral cat resources, low cost micro-chipping, ways to help the horses and low cost wellness clinics to help the animals.

Alabama Week for the Animals celebration will spotlight statewide pet and animal events/activities. It will also include library book displays for the children, promotions at shelters, rescue groups & park events, wildlife center activities, pet food/supply donations, bird events, veggie meetups, salute to the military and more!
