Veterinarians will become familiar with the following procedures and techniques:
• Diagnosis and treatment of common diseases in chickens
• Collection of samples for disease surveillance (such as Avian Influenza)
• Poultry necropsy
• Blood and other sample acquisition from live chickens
• Poultry parasite management
• Management of reproductive or egg laying issues in chickens
We will also inform practitioners about the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP). Practitioners will have the opportunity to learn about what services our diagnostic lab can provide, and also can meet with the doctors, pathologists, and Auburn University poultry sciences professors as well.
