WE ARE VERY, VERY CLOSE BUT

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!

PLEASE, DON’T LET THE

SPAY/NEUTER PROJECT FAIL!

We are less than one month away from reaching our goal of pre-selling 1,000 Spay/Neuter license plates (Tag #88) in an effort to assist low-income pet owners. The number of applicants reported by the Alabama Department of Motor Vehicles reached 742 through the month of August. We do not know how well we did in September nor how well things are going in October. We MUST NOT leave the remaining time to chance! If our efforts fail in this regard, we will have lost a great opportunity to help bring the crisis of unwanted pets under control.   If every member of the Association would participate in this effort, we would more than surpass our goal. You can also consider offering to reimburse your staff if any of them would like to participate. A number of our members have opted to do this and it has been well received by staff members.

As veterinarians we need to be the leaders in the spay/neuter efforts! Please, sign up to get your specialized plate as today!

The cost of the tag is the standard $50 like other specialized tags, with $41.25 of each sale going to the Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation to assist low-income families with the cost of spaying and neutering their pets.
Visit your local county license plate issuing office and ask for Tag #88, complete a “Commitment to Purchase” application and pay the additional $50 fee. You will continue to use your current license plate until the Spay-Neuter plate is produced. The Foundation will notify you after the plates are produced and are available in the county license plate offices. You can then go to the license office where the original application was completed, present the original “Commitment to Purchase” and the receipt for $50, along with your current standard license plate. You must have these two original documents to receive the plate.

Remember, 1,000 tags MUST be pre-sold BY OCTOBER 31, 2008 in order for the program to be implemented.
