Members Help With Spay/Neuter Tag Efforts

Members of the Alabama VMA are coming up with unique ideas in a effort to help reach the goal of pre-selling 1,000 spay/neuter Alabama license plates by October 30, 2008.  Dr. Alan Jones of Hazel Green is putting together a team to pass out fliers at a local sidewalk art show on Thursday, August 21st.  According to Dr. Jones, "I thought it would be fun to get a group of vets together and have a nice relaxing social time and talk up the tags to the public at the art show.  We could walk around, see some art and maybe bring the family and a dog to attract attention and generate some interest (about the plate)."  Dr. Jones even talked to a local television station which expressed a willingness to give them some publicity.

With only three months left to reach the goal, the last report from the Alabama Department of Revenue indicated there have been 515 plates sold through May 30.  No results are available at this time for the months of June and July.
