WE ARE VERY, VERY CLOSE BUT
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!

PLEASE, DON'T LET THE SPAY/NEUTER PROJECT FAIL!

We are less than one month away from reaching our goal of pre-selling 1,000 Spay/Neuter license plates (Tag #88) in an effort to assist low-income pet owners. The number of applicants reported by the Alabama Department of Motor Vehicles reached 742 through the month of August. We do not know how well we did in September nor how well things are going in October. We MUST NOT leave the remaining time to chance! If our efforts fail in this regard, we will have lost a great opportunity to help bring the crisis of unwanted pets under control.   If every member of the Association would participate in this effort, we would more than surpass our goal. You can also consider offering to reimburse your staff if any of them would like to participate. A number of our members have opted to do this and it has been well received by staff members.

As veterinarians we need to be the leaders in the spay/neuter
efforts!
Please, sign up to get your specialized plate today!

Message from President Newman

Dear Fellow Veterinarians:

To promote and support sound legislation is a constant.  There has been a problem with the lack of efforts in the past but we are catching up.  Paying attention to the legislature is well in hand but so is developing collaborations with associated groups and developing a legislative day tentatively to be held
in the spring.  Selling the spay/neuter tag is a legislative issue because the legislature has to approve such a sale.

What you should know is that the legislature pays attention to such efforts.
If we are unable to sell one thousand tags, the legislature will realize we are without political pull thus relegating our political opinions to the proverbial
trash heap.
