Wishing You and Yours a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Be sure to watch your mail for a colorful 11 x 17 poster with details of the new Spay/Neuter license plate, sponsored by the Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation! You are encouraged to display the poster in a prominent location within your clinic or hospital easily accessible to the public.  This is a tremendous opportunity to help with funding for low-income pet owners to have their pets spayed and neutered. “ALVMF DAY”

The Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation is once again declaring a specific day

as ALVMF Day. We are asking veterinarians across the state to contribute 10% of

their gross receipts for that day to the Foundation. The date is Friday March 14,

2008. Surrounding states have done this as well and it has generated tremendous

funds for Foundation efforts all across the south.  ALVMF president Lewis McCurdy,

DVM, challenges all members to participate. This is a great opportunity to show

your support for the Foundation and its many programs to help with disaster relief,

spay/neutering efforts and special grants.  The ALVMF DAY coincides with

upcoming 2008 Alabama Animal Hall of Fame which is set for March 15 in

Huntsville. Full details of the Hall of Fame will be forthcoming.
