The Alabama Veterinary Medical Association (ALVMA) was honored with a Commendation by Governor Bob Riley during a Legislative Breakfast at the State Capitol on Thursday, May 10, 2007.

Do You Adopt Stray Animals Out Of Your Clinic?
Are You Following the New Spay/Neuter Laws?

It has been almost a year since the Alabama state legislature passed a Mandatory Spay and Neuter law (HB252). There are still questions lingering from ALVMA members who are not sure about the applicability of this law to veterinary hospitals.


The law requires the spaying or neutering of all sexually mature dogs and cats adopted from various types of facilities (veterinary hospitals included).

Thousands Visit the ALVMA Centennial Booth

It was a busy couple of weekends for many ALVMA members as the Association made its presence known at several community events throughout the state.  As part of its centennial celebration, the Alabama VMA displayed a new booth depicting the many achievements made by the association over the past 100 years. The booth was manned at each event by volunteers, who talked with the public about veterinary medicine and the history of the ALVMA. (To Read More)

 

Centennial Book Available to the Public

In April, all members of the Alabama VMA were sent a complimentary copy of the association’s centennial book.  It was included in a special mailing which contained the association’s bi-annual newsletter, a schedule of the upcoming annual convention and a 6” beach ball. We have a number of requests from members who would like to receive additional copies of the centennial book to hand out to their clients.
