Changes to the ALVMA Constitution and Bylaws
The Alabama Veterinary Medical Association membership has voted several changes to the Association Constitution and Bylaws.  A copy of the new document can be found on the website by following this link.
The major changes include:
  1. Board Member-at-Large was made a one-year term rather than two-year, thereby eliminating the position of Jr. Board Member.
  2. A representative of the Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation Board was added as an Ex-officio, non-voting member of the Board.
  3. Changes to the Constitution and Bylaws will now be made by mailed ballot to the members rather than a vote at the general membership business meeting.
  4. Retirement was redefined in determining qualifications for Life Membership status.
  5. Changes were made to the determination procedure for exemption from dues.
  6. Election of Officers, Board Member-at-Large, AVMA Delegate and Alternate Delegate will be conducted by mailed ballots to the membership.
  7. Eliminated four standing committees: Long range planning, Program, Radiology, and Resolutions
  8. Recognition of new constituent associations will be conducted by mailed ballots to the membership.
