Avian Chlamydiosis and Psittacosis in Alabama

Please be alert for cases of avian chlamydiosis (psittacosis in humans)
in recently purchased pet birds. Over the past few weeks, several states have received a notice from PetSmart pet store chain reporting higher
than normal incidences of chlamydiosis-positive birds in their stores.
